Over half of Ukraine’s power units of state thermal power plants do not work due to lack of coal

For October 19, every second power unit of Ukraine’s Centrenergo State Company is not working due to lack of fuel - coal and natural gas. This was stated in the data of Ukrenergo.

Currently, only three of 23 power units of state-owned thermal power plants are operating (13%). At each of the three TPPs, one power unit with a total load of 631 MW operates.

Other units are under planned and emergency repairs, they cannot be used due to lack of fuel.

On September 11, Zaporizhia nuclear power plant connected the fifth unit to the country's power system after the completion of works on the replacement of the current transformer.

On August 22, it was reported that the third power unit of Zaporizhia NPP had been disconnected from the power system and put into scheduled preventive repair.
