Over 9,000 Covid-19 cases observed in Ukraine in 24 hours

262 patients died from the complications caused by coronavirus over day

During the past 24 hours, 9,084 cases of coronavirus infection were observed in Ukraine; 262 patients died as Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov reported on Facebook.

The majority of the confirmed cases were registered in Kyiv (853); Vinnytsia (659), Lviv (600), Odesa (588) and Chernivtsi (587) regions.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,425,522 Covid-19 cases have been observed in Ukraine; 1,210,246 (+5,330 in 24 hours) people recovered. Meanwhile, 27,685 (+262) people died from the complications caused by the coronavirus disease.

Moreover, 4,250 people were hospitalized yesterday. The Ukrainian laboratories performed over 106,464 tests.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal claimed that the third wave of coronavirus pandemic began in Ukraine. He stated that the medical system in Ukraine is ready for the third wave of coronavirus pandemic. Shmygal also called on local authorities to observe discipline and take a responsible approach to organize anti-epidemic measures.

Besides, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the first patients were delivered to the makeshift hospital in Bohorodchany. However, due to the large number of patients who need hospitalization, Ivano-Frankivsk will prepare another temporary hospital for patients with coronavirus.
