74 citizens of Ukraine stated that they would like to leave Afghanistan amid the deterioration of the social and economic situation as Ukraine 24 TV channel reported citing Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Yenin.
As of today, the Embassy of Ukraine in Tadzhikistan has established a direct connection with 74 citizens of Ukraine and members of their families who expressed the desire to return to Ukraine taking into account the sharp deterioration of the social and economic situation in Afghanistan,” Yenin reported.
He also recommended the Ukrainians, who would like to leave the country, to appeal to the hotline of the Foreign Ministry of embassies of Uzbekistan and Tadzhikistan. The diplomatic establishments develop the routes of evacuation.
As we reported, Ukraine evacuated from Afghanistan on its plane Ukrainians and the citizens of four more countries. Later, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky specified on Twitter that almost 80 people were evacuated from Afghanistan on the Ukrainian plane. The number includes eight Ukrainians and citizens of other states who asked about the urgent evacuation.
The Taliban militants seized Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Members of the diplomatic missions of the Western countries and their staff consisting of locals did not evacuate and they stay in the capital airport, where chaos is observed.
