The Ukrainian border guards did not admit over 50 foreigners to the territory of the country, fulfilling the regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak as 112 Ukraine reported.
“The Border Guard Service of Ukraine to fulfill the decision of the government and the NSDC, implementing the tasks on the non-admission of the foreigners to Ukraine since 12:01 a.m. I can say that over 50 people were not admitted. Considering the fact that we informed the neighboring side in advance through diplomatic and border channels, the carriers had this information that is why the number is not so big,” First Deputy Chair of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Nikiforenko said.
On March 16, Ukraine temporarily closed about a hundred checkpoints and banned entry into Ukraine for foreigners. Entry into Ukraine for foreigners and stateless persons is also temporarily prohibited.
As of March 15, five cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Ukraine. Two new cases were found in the Chernivtsi region.
