OUN members plan to hold rally demanding Avakov’s resignation due to detention of their activists

Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) claims that detention of demonstrators in the office on Mazepa Street in Kyiv on May 9 was conducted by the officers of KORD police special task force from Zaporizhia city. Thus the organization plans to hold a rally on May 11 to demand resignation of Arsen Avakov, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Vladyslav Shevchuk, one of OUN representatives stated during the briefing on Kyiv, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

"These actions will certainly not go unanswered. Sooner or later all these KORD operatives from Zaporizhia, who beat our activists, all these policemen, who shouted dirty words against us, will get their legal justice of "revolutionary tribunal"," Shevchuk noted.

According to him, the reports which he managed to review, stated that the detention of OUN protesters and sweeping of Kyiv office were conducted by the KORD fighters from Zaporizhia. 

OUN representative stressed that there are injured among the activists. An application to Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv was submitted.

As it was reported, 24 people were detained in OUN office on May 9, according to police. It was noted that one police officer was also injured as a result.
