OSCE names number of Russians in their mission to Ukraine

Alexader Hug, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, named the countries that send staff to OSCE SMM, according to a briefing at the U.S. Helsinki Commission. 

 “Over 40 (countries) are seconding, sending staff to this mission. The biggest contingent among the monitors is that of the United States with 66 staff in total,” he said.

He also added that the EU has the biggest presence in the mission, around 50-60%. The Russian Federation has the contingent of 39 people. As to the contingent of patrols, those are multinational teams of 6-8 observers.
