Orthodox Church of Ukraine recognized all the documents of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate issued after January 30, 2019 invalid. This is mentioned in the decree of the Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
“Any documents and orders on the behalf of the religious association of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate which terminated its activity issued after January 30, 2019 are invalid and are not enforceable by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Orthodox Church of Ukraine,),” the decree reads.
Besides, the leading churchman ordered to have the religious community Church of the Intercession in Kyiv under the direct authority of the Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
It became known that there were misunderstandings between the Honorable Patriarch Filaret and Metropolitan Epifaniy. In particular, Filaret seemed to want to restore the structure of the liquidated Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate and his influence on the church, while the circle of Metropolitan Epifaniy is inclined to support the “Greek system” of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as proposed by Fanar.
