Only 5-7% of Ukrainians travel by planes, - Infrastructure Minister

However, according to Volodymyr Omelyan, the demand for the air transport is increasing

Volodymyr Omelyan, Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister, stated that only 5-7% of Ukrainians use the service of the airline companies, as he said on air of Pryamyi.

“5-7% are using the service of the air transport. He believes that it’s possible to make it to 50%. As the experience of the countries like Poland and Hungary prove that it’s not a theorem, but a possible fact,” the message says.

He stated that the key question is whether the state would invest in aviation. If it does, then the number of the companies and Ukrainians, which will use the services, will increase.

Earlier, Omelyan stated that the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine intended to stop passenger railway traffic from/to Russia, yet, the cancellation of cargo transportation was not considered.
