On Tuesday, March 23, investigators of the capital's police announced the suspicion to one of the organizers of the rally near the Office of the President of Ukraine, which took place on Saturday, March 20. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"Law enforcement officers continue to collect evidence of illegal behavior of other active participants to bring them to justice," the statement said.
Criminal proceedings were opened for riots under the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for hooliganism.
Earlier, Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko said that the Interior Ministry promises to give a "tough answer" and prepare suspicions to provocateurs who during the rally in support of radical Serhiy Sternenko damaged the facade of the Presidential Office building.
Earlier, on March 20, supporters of the radical activist Serhiy Sternenko staged rallies under the building of the Office of the President. Protesters threw fireworks into the building of the OP, smashed several windows. Those present demanded the resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. Police have already opened criminal proceedings on several facts.
One of the protesters, who, according to preliminary information, smashed the windows in the building of the Security Service of Ukraine, was pressed charges.
