The price of Chinese CoronaVac vaccine dose for Ukrainians will make 504 hryvnia ($18) as Head of Lekhhim supervisory board Valery Pechayev said.
“To prevent resell, we introduce the single price – 504 hryvnias ($18),” Pechayev said.
He noted that the price of the vaccine depends on the dollar rate. If the rate does not change, the price might reduce.
Earlier, Lekhim concluded the contract with Chinese company Sinovac Biotech on supply of five million doses of its vaccine to Ukraine.
However, the efficacy of the vaccine against coronavirus produced by Chinese Sinovac Company has proved to be lower than it is mentioned in the purchase contract. The efficacy of the vaccine makes only 50.38%; while in the purchase contract concluded between the company and the Health Ministry, it is noted that the efficiency of the vaccine should make not less than 70%.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that Ukraine would refuse the supply of this vaccine if its efficacy remains less than 70% at the moment of supply. In such a case, the company should reimburse the funds allocated from the state budget.
