The Ukrainian athletes with gold, silver, and bronze medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games will get $125,000, $80,000 and $55,000 respectively as the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine reported.
“For won prize places and medals at the 2020 Olympic Games, the Ukrainian athletes this year will get from the state the monetary reward: Olympic gold - $125,000; silver - $80,000 and for bronze - $55,000,” the message says.
Currently, Ukraine has 13 medals: one gold; three silvers, and nine bronzes. The last day of the Olympic Games is August 8.
The ministry also noted that the state budget provides 1.3 million hryvnias ($48,476) for the preparation, participation and reward of Ukrainian athletes during the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As we reported, Zhan Beleniuk made the fans in Ukraine and abroad as happy as they could possibly be, collecting the first gold in these Olympic Games for his team and country. He triumphed in the Greco-Roman wrestling competition (weight category of up to 87 kilograms).
As we reported, Ukrainian athletes Marta Fedyna and Anastasiia Savchuk became bronze medalists of the Olympics during the final tournament in artistic swimming in duets.
