Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, visited three Ukrainian soldiers, who were wounded in Donetsk and Luhansk regions at the end of 2017- the beginning of 2018. The visit took place in Military Hospital named after Astrid Queen in Brussels as the presidential website reported.
She presented the postcards signed by her and husband to Mayor Dmytro Kuchera, Junior Sergeant Yevhen Pasechnyk and Senior Soldier Anton Matveichuk. She was also interested in the state of their health and asked whether they need some help.
“You are in a good mood. It seems to me that this is the most important thing for recovery. Volodymyr conveyed greetings to you. He could not arrive today. Yesterday we signed the postcards wholeheartedly. We all appreciate you and are waiting for you at home,” Olena Zelenska said to the fighters.
She also walked through the hospital premises and noted that it is important to improve the Ukrainian rehabilitation centers up to the level of the foreign establishments.
Mayor Dmytro Kuchera noted the high level of the technical equipment hospital and professionalism of the workers.
In 2018, four Ukrainian passed the rehabilitation there. In 2019, the hospital plans to host another five Ukrainians. Their stay in the center and rehabilitation process financed by the Belgium state as the local doctors improve their skills in work with gunshot wounds.
As we reported, the European Union would finish considering the question of allocation of 500 million euros of macro-financial aid to Ukraine after Kyiv fulfills all requirements.
