Chechen military volunteers Amina Okueva and Adam Osmaev were given state protection for some time, but later they did not prolong it. This was reported by the correspondent of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

It is noted that Okueva and Osmaev recently were not guarded, as they voluntarily refused it.

"As we found out, after the assassination attempt this summer, they were given state protection for a while, and when the time limit for the protection expired, they could continue it, but they refused further protection from the state. They were facing killers one-on-one, "the correspondent said.

As it was reported earlier, unknown men shot at the car of volunteer Donbas soldier and paramedic Amina Okueva, a Ukrainian citizen of Chechen ethnicity. She died in the attack, while her husband was wounded.

According to Anton Herashchenko, the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the car was shot at while waiting at the railroad crossing near Hlevakha. The investigation is underway on the site. h

The couple was assaulted before. On June 1, 2017, a killer pretending to be a journalist for Le Monde tried to murder Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva. He was inside the car with the couple and opened fire. Then, Adam Osmaev was wounded, but his wife managed to fire at the attacker four times, due to which he was successfully detained. The killer turned out to be related to Ramzan Kadyrov, the incumbent pro-Kremlin president of Chechen Republic.

The police introduced the "Siren" plan. As the head of the National Police Serhiy Knyazev said, the identity of the gunmen has not been established yet.
