Officer of Kalynivka military unit fined $90 for letting people into ammo depot on day of fire

They brought some flammable substances into the ammo depot, which might have caused the fire

An officer of the Kalynivka military unit was fined $90 for inadequate execution of his duties, which might have led to the fire at the ammunition depot this September, according to the statement by the military prosecution of the Central Ukraine.

The afore-mentioned officer let strangers come into the territory of the military unit where the ammunition was kept. The strangers moved some flammable materials and fire-hazard objects which might have led to the fire.

The fire at the ammunition storages in Kalynivka of Vinnytsia region began at 22:00 on September 26. The fire caused many explosions of the ammunition. Two women suffered in the result of the incident and were hospitalized. Almost 30 000 local citizens were evacuated from the dangerous area.
