The shooting occurred at the entrance to Solomiansky Court where the hearing of the case of Odesa Mayor Hennady Trukhanov is taking place. One police officer was wounded in the shooting. This was reported by the press service of Kyiv police.
“A police officer was wounded in Kyiv near Solomiansky District Court. This happened when he was on duty. The shooter was detained. Police officer with gunshot wounds in the legs was taken to the hospital. The shooter was taken to the police department,” the message says.
According to Hromadske, not long before that, police officer and National Corps representative had a cross talk. Later, the brawl happened on the stairs to the court.
“In total, 60 representative of the National Corps and nationalistic organization C14 came to the court where the case of Trukhanov is being considered. Also,in the court, there are around 50 people in black balaclavas,” the journalists note.
It is also noted that there are around 200 law enforcers near the court.
As we reported the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) served charges and detained Hennady Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odesa on February 14. It was noted that Trukhanov is transported to the building of the NABU for the questioning.
The NABU detectives under the guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office served charges on Trukhanov due to the suspect of the embezzlement through the malpractice. Moreover, three people were detained on the same criminal proceeding.
The NABU began the investigation in November 2016 on the purchase of the former plant 'Krayan' at an overvalued price by the city council. According to the bureau, the building was sold for $149, 080 in the beginning of 2016 and the Mayor office of Odesa purchased it in September 2016 for $ 6.9 million.
