Odesa city can become the leader of the Eastern European tourism industry. This opinion was expressed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a working visit to the region, the press service of the head of state reports.
"I am convinced that Odesa should become the leader of the Eastern European tourism industry," he said.
According to the president, now the regional center is the tourist capital of Ukraine and the maritime and cultural center of the state.
"Ukraine can be a leader in the field of tourism. Those who doubt this, let them come to Odesa and see what the beauty this city is," he added.
However, Poroshenko noted that for the further development of the tourist destination, we need to have good roads. "We have completed the construction of the Odess-Reni road and are now proceeding with the construction of a number of roads that make Odesa a logistics center," he said.
According to the head of state, it is also necessary to complete the construction of the runway at the Odesa airport.
