The number of Ukrainian users in Facebook has recently increased. Ten million accounts has already been registered. This was reported by Ain.ua.

This happened first of all due to the ban of Russian websites in Ukraine, such as VKontakte and Odnoklassniki that were most popular in the Ukrainian network for a long time.

One of the first people who noticed the significant number was Mykyta Kovalenko the co-founder of Yellow Fox boutique. In May this figure in the advertising office was still 7,4 million.

According to Ivan Dubinsky, СЕО Factum Group Ukraine that make reports on popular websites of the un.net for Ukrainian Internet Association (UIA), 9 546 069 of Ukrainians visited the starting page of Facebook in May and 8 797 750 of Ukrainians visited the profile page.

At the same time, according to SimilarWeb, the traffic on VKontakte that was the most popular social network in ua.net before the sanctions took effect is 3,8 million of unique visit from the desktops a day. Before sanctions this number was 9,8 million.

As it was reported earlier Ukrainian sanctions against Russian web portals are effective, according National Security Council. The Council’s Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov urged Ukrainian Internet providers to deny access to domestic accounts at Russian social networks.
