The number of thefts decreased by 20% in Ukraine over the past three years, as the Prosecutor General stated during the session of the parliamentary committee on legislative support for law enforcement activities.
As he put it, the number of recorded theft cases decreased from 592,000 in 2016 to 487,000.
“Thefts. 300,000 in 2016, 260,000 in 2017, 238,000 last year. Around 70,000-80,000 of these cases are passed to the court. 38,000 people were convicted for theft over the past year. 37,000 were convicted in 2016,” Lutsenko said.
He added that the number of intentional homicides reduced from 1800 to 1500.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Internal Minister Arsen Avakov stated that 92% of murders are being solved in Ukraine.
