The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has spotted 93 cases of the illegal enforced disappearances or arbitrary detentions from both sides of the demarcation line in Donbas as Hromadske reported.
It is noted that 28 of these cases took place during the reporting period (from February 16 until May 15, 2018) and it is twice more than previous four months.
The UN also noted “the absence of the effective investigation of the earlier registered cases of the arbitrary detentions and tortures.”
Earlier UN reported that 2,725 civilians have died since the outbreak of hostilities in Donbas region in the April 2014.
'For the entire period of the conflict, since April 14, 2014, till May 15, 2018, at the very least 2725 civilians have died. Among them: 1568 men, 961 women, 93 boys, 47 girls, 56 adults of unidentified sex,' Fiona Fraser claimed.
Also, the UN reported on 161 victims of armed conflict among the civilian population: 26 people were killed and 135 people were wounded (a little more than a half of all cases are related to shelling).
