87 cases of measles have been registered in Kyiv as of the morning of January 15. Among the patients, there are 66 children under 17 years and 21 adults. This was reported by the metropolitan administration of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
It is noted that the biggest number of cases was registered among children aged 5-9 years - 46.5%. According to emergency reports, 44 persons were hospitalized in-patient facilities, including 31 children. One adult was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
33 cases of measles were confirmed in laboratory.
19 cases were registered among the children of pre-school educational institutions and 32 - among schoolchildren.
As it was reported earlier as of morning on Friday, Jan. 12, 74 instances of infection with measles were recorded in Kyiv. Out of them, 57 are children. Most of the infected are kids of 5-9 years old – 46.5%. 16 instances of infection were reported among pre-school children and another 30 – among schoolchildren.
