In Ukraine, the number of cyber attacks carried out by hacker groups subordinated to Russia's secret services is growing. This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Odesa region.

"The situation center of cybersecurity of the Security Service of Ukraine records an increase in the number of cyberattacks aimed at public authorities, critical infrastructure and private sector organizations of Ukraine. Hacker groups subordinated to the special services of the Russian Federation became more active, "the statement reads," the message says.

The SBU also added that in April 2021, a cyber attack was carried out on the information and telecommunication systems of public authorities using bait documents on the subject of Covid-19. Downloading these files from the Internet (via group emails in messengers, etc.) and interacting with them caused the destruction of user computers and uploading work files (with predefined extensions) to the servers of attackers.
