The Normandy Format talks open the new window of opportunities for the implementation of Minsk Agreements as EU representative Peter Stano stated.

He added that it is the key to the peace settlement of Donbas Conflict and the improvement of the relations of Europe and Russia.

“The measures, which were agreed within Normandy Format and the renewed interaction of the sides during yesterday’s summit in Paris are important steps. Their fast and careful implementation is necessary and will have a direct positive influence on the life of people in the east of Ukraine at both sides of the demarcation line,” the message said.

The EU states its readiness to continue to support the efforts on the demining and OSCE SMM activity in Ukraine.

The Normandy Format meeting took place in Paris.

As we reported, Putin and Zelensky met in Paris as part of the Normandy Quartet meeting. The peace negotiations, known as the Normandy format, started back in 2014. The last Normandy Four meeting took place in October 2016, the roadmap on establishing peace in Ukraine was elaborated, however, the parties failed to fulfill it.

Later Putin stated he was pleased with bilateral talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Leaders of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin have so far agreed to hold another round of prisoners exchange during the bilateral talk.

As we reported the next Normandy Format Summit will take place in four months.
