The leaders Normandy format countries expressed support for the ceasefire regime in connection with the start of new academic year. This decision was made during the telephone conversation between the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, French President, German Chancellor and Russian President, says the message on president’s website.
It is noted in particular that the Ukrainian president announced his visit to the city of Shchastia near the occupied Luhansk on August 22, where he will meet with representatives of the front base of the OSCE SMM, based permanently in Stanytsia Luhanska.
It is noted that Poroshenko expressed full support for its 24-hour work in this city.
The head of state also called for the immediate release of all Ukrainian hostages who are illegally detained in captivity.
Upon the telephone conversation, the heads of states agreed on a joint statement, which the Administration of the President cites.
"The leaders expressed hope that this ceasefire will lead to a sustainable improvement of the security situation in the interests of schoolchildren and the entire civilian population of Donbas," the message says.
