The non-clinical phase of trials of the Ukrainian candidate for the vaccine against Covid-19 is finished; it has good prospects. The clinical phase should start soon as Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov reported.
“On Tuesday, we together with scientists presented the work to the president and it lasted six months on development, passing of non-clinical phase of a vaccine against Covid-19. This phase consists of a few large moments. We can say that it is passed and that within the holding of this non-clinical phase, it was established that this candidate for the vaccine has quite good prospects,” Stepanov said.
According to him, the development of this candidate was held by an American group of companies of the companies together with Ukrainian scientists.
Due to the fact that this phase is finished, the scientists will proceed to the clinical phase. It will start with the full support of the state, including the financing of all processes.
Earlier, a media report appeared saying that Ukrainian labs that develop the vaccine against Covid-19 received funding to continue research works.
As we reported, the Office of the President of Ukraine claimed that Ukrainian experts approached the invention of domestic anti-coronavirus vaccine. One of the developers stated that the current prototype could help people fight new, forthcoming kinds of coronavirus infections that keep mutating.
