Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that 99% of those hospitalized with coronavirus in Kyiv were unvaccinated. At the same time, among the dead - no Covid-vaccinated, mayor reports during a session of the City Council, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration transfers.
"In Kyiv this week - from 40 to 60 deaths a day. For the past day, for example, - 41 deaths, including the death of an 8-year-old boy. More than half a thousand hospitalized per day, and most of them, unfortunately, in serious condition. I emphasize once again that 99% of those who are hospitalized are unvaccinated people. And among those who died from the virus - no vaccinated," Klitschko said.
The mayor warned that the medical system of the capital is on the verge of collapse, because almost all resuscitations and 75% of beds with oxygen are filled.
"According to doctors, hospitals need three times more oxygen in this wave than in previous waves! We are doing everything possible - 88 percent of beds in medical institutions of the capital are equipped with oxygen supply," he added.
As it was reported earlier, 27,377 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine during the past 24 hours. The number of infected people during the pandemic in Ukraine exceeded three million.
At the same time, 1,836 cases of Covid-19 infection were detected in Kyiv over the past 24 hours.
