Ukraine's Health Minister Maksym Stepanov explained whether the Ministry of Health plans to reintroduce strict quarantine restrictions in the near future. According to him, now they do not see the need for this. This was discussed on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"If the situation begins to deteriorate sharply and the number of patients begins to grow at a hurricane rate, as a result the number of people who are hospitalized, which can potentially lead to a critical load on the medical system, then we will offer the introduction of a new lockdown," Stepanov said.
As we reported earlier, Maksym Stepanov upheld the idea to extend the lockdown in this country after January 25.
Stepanov explained that the boosted quarantine must be continued for several reasons. First of all, in January, a lot of Ukrainians joined mass events to celebrate winter holidays. Besides, people traveled to visit their relatives.
"All these things can potentially affect the rate of incidence of those infected with Covid-19," the Minister said.
