For today, there are no ‘thieves in law’ in Ukraine against whom sanctions were imposed on May 14. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov at a briefing following the meeting of the council.
“Since the beginning of the year, 34 thieves in law were present in the territory of Ukraine. As of today, there are none of them. After the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, there were 17 of them, as of today, there is no criminal under these attributes in our country,” Danilov said.
According to him, the National Police works on the NSDC decision on sanctions against the people with so-called titles in the underworld.
“If you remember, we had 111 crime bosses who stayed in Ukraine and fell under the sanctions. Today we have 42 out of 111 against whom the procedure of expulsion continues. Another 36 were detained and 33 are under investigation,” Danilov stated.
As we reported, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine introduced personal sanctions against 557 thieves in law. Also, the NSDC imposed sanctions on 111 foreigners who are crime bosses.
