As of 8 pm on September 27, no explosions were recorded at Kalynivka ammunition depot, where previously a fire broke out, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
“According to the statement of Operative headquarters on fighting the consequences of the Kalynivka emergency, starting 7 pm, no explosions occurred at the ammunition depot. The infrequent fires that break out on the territory, are immediately put out by firefighting tanks,” the Ministry informs.
It is also noted that the activity on fighting the consequences are continuing, the explosive devices are being defused by demining groups. Around 700 soldiers are working on site as well.
As we reported earlier, one of the biggest ammunition depots in Ukraine is on fire since 10:00 p.m., September 26. Thousands of people from Kalynivka and other nearby villages had to get evacuated, many of them using their own transport. Volunteers were posting to social networks for the whole night offering help and providing new details on the explosions.
