First Deputy of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group Vitold Fokin stated that he does not see the evidence of the war between Ukraine and Russia, as MP from Holos faction Roman Lozynsky reported on Facebook.
“I am not a politician and I cannot make some determination. I see no confirmation that in Donbas, the war between Russia and Ukraine takes place,” Fokin said.
Moreover, he stated that the Russian Federation supports the militants in Donbas.
Earlier, Vitold Fokin claimed he was insecure when publicly calling Donbas militants 'rebels'. The first Prime Minister of Ukraine also added he was very sorry that his statement caused a huge outrage in the society.
Ex-PM of Ukraine Vitold Fokin was included in the Minsk Talks group in August 2020. He made a number of controversial statements on Donbas; however, they do not reflect the official position of Ukraine as the President’s Office underlined.
