Night heat: Two temperature records broken in Kyiv

New temperature records were set in Kyiv. At night, the temperature was not below the indicators which were fixed over the past centuries, as Central geophysical observatories named after Borys Sreznevsky reported.

“According to the observations of the weather stations… on June 11 in Kyiv the warmest night since 1881 was recorded. The stem of the thermometer was not lower than +20,2°С, which is by 0,3°С more than the highest indicators in 1999. The average temperature of the day repeated record indicator +25,8 °С in 2009. On the next day, on Wednesday, the temperature at night was not lower than +21,3°С, which means that the previous record indicator was +20,2°С in 1957 was higher by 1,1°С,” the message reads.

As it was reported, entrance for cargo transport was restricted due to heat, roads are poured with water.

On June 13, meteorologists predict up to +33°С, high level of fire risks is observed.
