President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that an agreement on a meeting in the Normandy format at the level of advisers to the heads of states has already been reached. He said this in an exclusive interview with the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"We agreed at the end of August, the 28th. Then, I think, there should still be a meeting of the foreign ministers of the quartet and then a meeting of the leaders," Zelensky said.
The President also highly appreciated the work of the new head of the trilateral contact group Leonid Kravchuk and his first deputy Vitold Fokin.
“These are professional, powerful Ukrainian diplomats with a clear pro-Ukrainian position, patriotic and balanced, which is very important. Leonid Makarovich is one of the best diplomats in Ukrainian modernity. I now see how he is raising Minsk, and we have already agreed on some things. Yes , he is helped by both Mr. Fokin and Mr. Reznikov, Andriy Yermak and Ruslan Demchenko are doing a lot. Kravchuk is the face of our today's group, the face of Ukrainian diplomacy, we have no better one, I think so," Zelensky said...
The President also noted that Vitold Fokin was appointed on the right place.
“It is important for the other side to see a person who is also from Donbas - from Donbas, Ukrainian Donbas. It seems to me that this is the correct diplomatic balance, which is currently presiding over from Ukraine in the trilateral contact group. We did not just replace and changed the leadership. "It is maintained every day, we have agreed on 20 demining sites, on troop withdrawal points, on the exchange of prisoners. This is a big step forward," Zelensky summed up.
