Next hearing on Yanukovych case to be held Dec. 20

Obolon district court of Kyiv is to continue the hearing on the state treason of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Another hearing is scheduled for Dec. 21.

In yesterday’s hearing, the evidence submitted by the defence was being investigated for over five hours.

In the next hearing, the witnesses will be questioned. There’s no information as to who exactly will testify on Dec. 20.

Previously the court granted the prosecutor’s application to question a number of high-ranking officials and politicians as witnesses. Internal Minister Avakov and former Prime Minister Yatseniuk have already testified. Among others, there are President Poroshenko, Parliament speaker Parubiy, and Secretary of National Security and Defence Council Turchynov.

Yanukovych is accused of state treason, violating Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and abetting Russian aggression.
