The New Zealand Parliament hosts a petition on recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people. This was reported on the website of parliament.
"Friends and colleagues, the petition for recognition of the Holodomor as a genocide is on the website of the Parliament of New Zealand. It is open for signatures since January 8, 2019, and has gained as many as 500+ signatures. Let’s help gather the required number of votes," wrote Serhiy Kyslytsia, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine on Twitter.
As it was reported earlier, the House of Representatives of U.S. Congress recognized the 1933 Holodomor the act of genocide of Ukrainians. The document contains the recognition of conclusions of the U.S. Governmental Commission for the Famine in Ukraine, stipulating that 'Stalin and his sidekicks committed genocide against Ukrainians'.
15 states recognized Holodomor genocide of Ukrainian people. In particular, the Holodomor was recognized as a state-level genocide by Estonia, Australia, Canada, Hungary, Lithuania, Georgia, Poland, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, Latvia, Portugal, and the Vatican.
