New York recognizes Holodomor in Ukraine as genocide

New York state adopted a resolution on recognition of Holodomor in Ukraine, as it was reported on Facebook page of Ukraine’s Embassy in the U.S.

“The Senate and New York State Assembly adopted a joint resolution dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine, which recognizes the tragedy as a genocide of Ukrainian nation,” the message says.

It was noted that as of today nine U.S. states recognized Holodomor in Ukraine a genocide. These states are Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

As it was reported, Massachusetts recognized Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine a genocide of Ukrainian nation in March 2018.
