New training bases to be created for Special Forces of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that new bases are to be created in order to train the soldiers of the Special Forces. The president told this in his briefing during the ceremony of opening a new wing of children hospital in Kropyvnytskyi, broadcasted by 112.UA Channel.

“Today the Special Forces are a symbol of cooperation with our NATO partners. New bases are being created, we agreed upon building objects in Kropyvnytskyi too, and they will enhance the level of training,” the president said.

 “It is highly important, that the foundation of these forces is created by heroes, soldiers, including the 3rd Special Forces regiment, which has become the symbol of Kropyvnytskyi. And in the toughest moments of the Russian aggression – Donetsk airport defense, ensuring our soldiers a safe retreat from Debaltseve, operations in Luhansk, and many others, which I can’t name now,” Poroshenko said.

The Special Forces of Ukraine were created by the president’s decree under the Russian aggression in Ukraine. The Special Forces is a separate type of Armed Forces that consists of highly-skilled and motivated soldiers, who are able to engage in subversive activity behind enemy lines, organize partisans on occupied territories, set free or capture important hostages.
