By 2035, Ukraine plans to build a new naval fleet, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President.

“As for our naval fleet, we have three stages at the moment. The construction of a large fleet will last until 2035. The first stage we will see in reality, it will definitely be done by 2024. The second stage is to be completed until 2030, the third - until 2035,” Zelensky explains.

President noted that infrastructure is being created in Ukraine for the construction of the naval fleet: small submarines, corvettes and military boats. In addition, it is planned to start the development of naval bases.

According to Zelensky, the first base to be built will be a base in Berdyansk. The project is expected to be supported by the European Union, Unites States and United Kingdom.
