Starting from August 22, the new fines are implemented for the violation of the import of the cars under customs regimes of the temporary importation and transit as State Fiscal Service of Ukraine reported.
The service explained that by that time the owners of the cars with the foreign registration were able to process their cars and avoid the fines. The imposing of the administrative responsibility for the violation during the import of the vehicles is delayed with such purpose.
It is noted that according to the new rules, in case of the exceeding of the term of the supply of the vehicles for the personal use and commercial use from 20 up to 30 days, the fine in the sum of $3.379. If the term is exceeded for over 30 days and in case of the loss or dismantling of the vehicle, the sum of the fine will be $6.758 or the car will be confiscated.
The similar sums of the fines applied during the exceeding of the term of the temporary importation of the vehicles for the personal use and commercial use.
Moreover, the responsibility for the pass of the vehicle of the personal use temporarily imported through the customs territory of Ukraine or put under the customs regime of the transit to another person and use of such vehicles for commercial purposes.
A person will be obliged to pay $1.351 for such violation.
Besides, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Ruslan Ryaboshapka stated that fines for owners of the vehicles with the European car plates are postponed for another three months.
On July 13, 2018, Verkhovna Rada supported a bill providing for increased responsibility for breaching the rules of car import to Ukraine. The document establishes a single term for sanctions for customs rules breach, - half a year since the day of detection of the violation.
On October 22, the Supreme Court of Ukraine recognized the termless use of the cars with the EU license plates imported in the regime of transit as legal. Later, the State Fiscal Service claimed that the use of the uncustomed cars is still a violation of the law.
