Three to four new checkpoints will open on the border of Ukraine with Poland, as well as with Slovakia. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia on the Dom TV channel, Ukrinform reports.
In particular, new border checkpoints are planned to be opened in Lviv region on the border section near the Polish city of Przemyśl, and in Volyn region. The opening of new checkpoints in Zakarpattia, on the border with Poland and Slovakia, is also being discussed.
However, according to the ambassador, there may be difficulties in creating new border crossing points in the Zakarpattia region, as the border zone is located in the Uzhansky National Park, Polonyny in Slovakia, Beschadsky in Poland. As these are protected areas, the authorities will need to negotiate to obtain more permits for national parks.
As it was reported earlier, Hungary has resumed the activity of two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. As July 7, the checkpoints Lonya and Barabash in the Berehivsky area of the Zakarpattia region resumed work.
