New Ambassador of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Melinda Simmons has arrived in Ukraine as Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.
The British diplomat confirmed the consistent unchanged position of the government of the United Kingdom on political and practical support of Ukraine, first of all, on settlement of Donbas Conflict.
“The United Kingdom intends to extend and diversify programs of the technical support for Ukraine with particular emphasis on the development of the regions suffering from the Russian aggression,” Simmons noted.
In her turn, Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal thanked for clear recent position of official London on the absence of the grounds for Russia’s return to G7 and invited the British side to closer interaction in the issue of the decentralization in Ukraine and development of the local communities.
Earlier new Ambassador of Austria to Ukraine Gernot Pfandler arrived in Kyiv. He handed the copies of the credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olena Zerkal.
