New ammunition, armament tested in Ukraine

The complex testing of the ammunition and armament took place at Honcharivsky proving ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as the press service of the National Security Council of Ukraine reported.

Oleksandr Turchynov, the NSDC Secretary claimed that the producing of the ammunition earlier not produced in Ukraine will be established as soon as possible.

"The important phase of the testing of the most deficit 152-mm ammunition and 60-mm mines for new Ukrainian mortar launchers took place," he reported.

Also, it is reported that the testing of two new modifications of 60-mm and 82mm mortar launchers took place. Moreover, the check of the security characteristics was held during the firing from the 120-mm mortar launchers.

The ballistic fingerprints were checked by the mobile radar system of the trajectory measuring during the testing and according to Turchynov, it can successfully trace the trajectories not only of the large-sized ammunition: shells, mines, rockets but also bullets.

The ammunition and armament, that underwent the testing, were made by state and private producers and according to the NSDC representatives, it allow to stimulate the competition and improve the quality of the product.

"I want to emphasize that all testing was passed successfully. The Ukrainian weaponry and ammunition showed the compliance with the specified characteristics and it will be adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as soon as possible and it will increase the fire ability of our army," Turchynov noted.

As we reported the Ukrainian military conducted tests of multiple rocket launch systems ‘Smerch’ (Ukrainian for ‘Tornado’). While these weapons remain withdrawn from the combat area in Donbas, the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation ordered to test them from time to time – in case of the full-blown military offensive.

Also, the state concern Ukroboronprom established a batch production of the rocket man-portable flamethrower RPO-16 which destroy the enemy even under a strong cover.
