NATO member states increase contributions into some trust funds to support Ukraine. On particular, disposal of radioactive waste and medical rehabilitation for the soldiers are within this initiative, as Government Portal reported.
“NATO will be supporting Ukraine on its way to the Euro-Atlantic integration increasing contributions into the trust funds,” Frederic Peugeot, the Head of the projects of NATO trust funds said at the meeting with Ukraine’s Vice-Prime-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
He added that the operation of the trust fund for the medical rehabilitation for the soldiers would be prolonged till 2021.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze thanked NATO for its firm position. She stressed that despite political turbulence and change of power in the country, the Euro-Atlantic integration course remains unchangeable.
“The Government will make every effort to continue Ukraine’s course towards membership in the Alliance. We continue working on certain directions,” Klympush-Tsintsadze noted.
She also told NATO representative that President Poroshenko adopted a decree “On issues of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration”, which defines the tasks and commitments of the state authorities on the implementation of the strategic course of EU and NATO integration.
