NATO extends rent of Ukrainian heavy transport aircraft “Ruslan”

Ukraine and NATO will continue the cooperation on the Strategic Airlift Interim Solution program on the fulfillment of the strategic transport air cargo flights as “Antonov” State Enterprise reported on Facebook.

“The planes of the fleet of “Antonov Airlines”, aviation transport units of “Antonov” State Enterprise will continue the fulfillment of the strategic flights within SALIS (Strategic Airlift Interim Solution) program. The proper contract was concluded for another three years until December 31, 2021,” the message said.

According to the contract, starting from January 1, 2019, “Antonov” State Enterprise provides two An-124-100 “Ruslan” planes on an ongoing basis for conduction of flights in the interests of members of SALIS program.

The Strategic Airlift Interim Solution program is the union of 14 countries, which use An-124-100 “Ruslan” planes for support of the operations of the NATO and the EU.
