NATO can support Ukraine by sending of a few vessels to Black Sea, - Poroshenko

According to Poroshenko, the issue, which countries can provide such vessels can be discussed but it should be the NATO countries

One of the possible variants of the support of Ukraine in the current situation in waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea is the sending of a few vessels of NATO to the Black Sea. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine made such statement as the presidential press service reported.

“The sending of a few NATO vessels can be one of the possible variants of the support of Ukraine as the target is the global security,” he noted.

According to Poroshenko, the issue, which countries can provide such vessels can be discussed but it should be the NATO countries to not allow Russia anymore to act aggressively.

Answering the question whether he expects that U.S. President Donald Trump will deliver the position on Ukraine to Russian President Vladimir Putin at G20 summit, Poroshenko noted that he has two versions.

“The first one is the Normandy Format, Minsk Agreements, de-escalation of the situation in the Sea of Azov, de-occupation of Crimea and many others. But it can be said shorter: Mr. Putin, get away from Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.

He also reminded about the previous meetings with U.S. President and emphasized that he got the strong position on the support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Poroshenko added for last that the imposing of the martial law in a few regions of Ukraine tool place for the defense, the country does not intend to resort to military actions against anyone.

As we reported earlier, the coast guard ships of the Russian Navy acted aggressively against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, which have been carrying out a scheduled transition from Odesa port to Mariupol port in the Sea of Azov.

Given the tough situation in the area of Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, President Petro Poroshenko supported the offer of Ukraine's national security and defense council; it stipulates that the Ukrainian Parliament should consider the option to impose the martial law in Ukraine.

On November 28, the Uriadovy Kurier, the official outlet of the Ukrainian Cabinet published the presidential decree No.392, which activates the decision of the National Security and Defense Council in Ukraine about the 30-days-long martial law in Ukraine.

It was also reported that President of the U.S. Donald Trump and President of Russia Vladimir Putin will hold a bilateral meeting at G-20 summit on November 29-30 in Buenos Aires.
