National Union of Journalists of Ukraine urged Security Service and other law enforcement agencies to hold an effective investigation of the attack at 112 Ukraine TV channel, as Chairman of the Union Serhiy Tomilenko reported on Facebook.
“Attack at media’s office from grenade launcher is blatant intimidation of all the Ukrainian journalists from capital and regions,” Tomilenko noted.
The representatives of the Union pay attention to the fact that despite discussions on editorial policy and owners’ influence on their media, physical attacks at journalists and media is savagery.
“International partners condemned the attack at 112 Ukraine TV channel and demand investigation. Ukraine is expected to provide security for the journalists and civilized discussions concerning issues of informational space,” he added.
Earlier, 112 Ukraine TV channel appealed to National Union of Journalists of Ukraine requesting cooperating in the protection of rights and interests of the journalists after the attack.
