Vitaliy Markiv, the fighter of the National Guard of Ukraine has returned to his motherland. Ukrainian TV channels broadcasted his return live on Wednesday.

Markiv's plane landed in Boryspil airport not far from Kyiv on November 4. The serviceman spoke with the press and answered their questions. He was accompanied by his wife, as well as Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Parliamentary Ombudsman Lyuidmyla Denisova.

Vitaliy Markiv is the member of National Guard of Ukraine. Italy accused him of involvement in the murder of Italian photographer Andrea Rocchelli, killed in Donetsk region in 2014. In 2017, the police arrested Markiv in Bologna airport as he came there to visit his mother. Earlier this year, the Italian court sentenced him to 24 years behind the bars under these charges; however, the Appeal Court in Milan ruled that Markiv has to be cleared of all accusations. The Ukrainian walked free.
