National Guard seviceman dies, three wounded in ammunition mishandling accident

An employee of the National Guard of Ukraine lost his life in an ammunition mishandling accident in Donbas combat zone on Sunday evening. Three more men were injured. The press office of the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on Facebook.

The accident happened at about 6 p.m. Sunday. The wounded received urgent medical assistance; their lives are beyond danger now.

"The accident took place due to safety measures when handling guns and ammunition", reads the message.

Law enforcers from the Joint Forces Operation's composition have been looking into the case.

On August 18, armed Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian military emplacements 13 times. There were no killed or wounded fighters on that day, the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported.

The enemy used infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.

Most of the attacks occurred in Donetsk region. In Luhansk region, Russian mercenaries fired twice.

Since the beginning of Monday, August 19, the occupants opened fire in Donetsk region twice.
