"Today, for the first time, personal sanctions have been imposed, in particular, we blocked the assets of persons who, according to the analytical data of the National Security and Defense Council and the Security Service, can be called the top 10 Ukrainian smugglers," Zelensky said.
The president stressed that the fight against smuggling will continue. He noted that only the first ten smugglers were subject to sanctions and they will not be the last.
"Dozens of customs officials have been fired, and we are preparing legislative changes to criminalize inaccurate customs declarations," the president said.
List of "top 10" smugglers includes: Ivan Bokalo, Valeriy Peresolyak, Yuriy Kushnir, Oleksandr Erimichuk, Orest Firmanyuk, Vadym Alperin, Oleksandr Chudakov, Victor Sherman, Oleksandr Kravchenko, Volodymyr Didukh.
Earlier, Zelensky convened the National Defense Council on April 2. Later it was reported that he appointed the head of Center for Countering Disinformation under Defense Council.
