The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has abolished the registration of the inner-state payment system WebMoney.UA (the subsidiary of 'Financing company ElMI', Kyiv) as it was put on the sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council as the press service of the bank reported.
The Committee for supervision and regulation of banks' activity and supervision of the payment systems of the NBU approved the proper decision on May 25.
Moreover, the NBU annulled the license of the subsidiary of the 'Financing company ElMI' for the transfer of funds in the national currency without opening of the account and abolished its registration as the partakers of the payment system, abolished the registration of 'Paymaster' as the service operator of the payment infrastructure.
The NBU claimed that the rules of WebMoney.UA system included the calculations only for the financial tools. In the results of 2017, the share of WebMoney.UA at the marker of the inner-state transfers made through payment system made 0,2%, and in the results of the first quarter of 2018 – 0, 08%.
As we reported Ukraine has imposed 3-year sanctions against WebMoney, the Russian supplies of the coal from Donbas and producers of the mineral fertilizers as it is stated in the order of Ukraine's President #126/2018.
Moreover, the sanctions imposed against WM Transfer Ltd (Lithuania), VMR (Russia), WebMoney.Ru (Russia), non-bank credit organization 'Online clearing house' (Russia), WebMoney Europe Ltd (the UK), Amstar Holdings Limited (Hong Kong) , INDX Transactions Ltd (British Virgin Islands), Ukrainian representative office of 'Financial company Elmi', WebMoney.UA and others.
As we reported Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree that introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the targeted sanctions against persons and entities connected with the Russian aggression.
The sanctions are imposed for three years or indefinitely to individuals and legal entities which are involved in Russian aggression against Ukraine, preparing and conducting illegal voting in the occupied Crimea within the framework of the presidential elections, representatives of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea, militants of Russian armed groups in the occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, etc.
Besides, sanctions were imposed on people who are involved in the information and cyber attacks against Ukraine, “ in unlawful actions against Ukrainian citizens which are illegally detained in Russia, on members of the State Duma and members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, etc.
