The National Bank of Ukraine issued a new commemorative coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian Navy Service, as the press-office of the National Bank reported.
The small coat of arms, a stylized flag of Ukraine’s Navy Service of the early 20 century and a contour of the warship on waves are placed on the head side. There is also a vertical sign “Ukraine”, the year of the mintage and the nominal value – ten hryvnias.
A “100” sign against stylized waves are placed on the tail side; a wind rose and a trident laying on the anchor with 1918 and 1920 dates are placed in zeros. The up and down of the coin says “The establishment of Ukraine’s Navy Service”.
Ukraine’s Navy Service was created at the beginning of 1918 by the Central Council, which adopted several naval laws. Later, admiral Sablin, commanding the Black Sea Fleet, with the aspiration among Ukrainian sailors, declared all the fleets in Sevastopol and Crimea the fleet of Ukrainian People’s Republic and ordered to hoist the Ukrainian flag.
