NASA plans to land people on Moon in 2024

NASA develops the Artemis Space Launch System and it will provide the return of a human to the Moon in 2024 as Voice of America reported.

The first flight of Artemis is planned for 2021; however, it will be unpiloted. According to the plan, in three years, people will fly to the earth satellite – for the first time in almost 40 years.

Besides, in 2026, it is planned to start another long-term project – to prepare the launch of the project on the construction of the nuclear power plant on the surface of the Moon. Firstly, the construction will be triad on Earth; later it would be transferred to the satellite to produce energy to support the work of the research station. NASA and the United States Department of Energy have already announced the competition for the search of the developers who would implement the project.

As we reported, following a successful launch on the first NASA-certified commercial human spacecraft system in history, an international crew of astronauts (NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission) is en route to the International Space Station.

On November 13, 2020, the State Space Agency of Ukraine signed the NASA Artemis Agreement on the Principles of Cooperation in Civil Exploration and the Use of the Moon, Mars, comets, and asteroids for peaceful purposes.
